Kaomi was a talented healer, hula dancer, and aikāne to Kauikeaouli (Kamehameha III). During this time, bigotry against māhū individuals and disdain for cultural practices was increasing. Kaomi was tragically beaten to death, simply for being himself. This kapa honors the love these men shared.
